In 2012 Georgia was in a drought. This year, the state has been deluged with rain. Atlanta is close to achieving 100% of its annual average rainfall and it is only the beginning of August. This has been a disastrous year in the South for farmers. Many predict they will lose up to 50% of their crops and that losses may be in the billions of dollars. Unfortunately, above average precipitation is predicted for the next two months so keep those umbrellas close at hand.
