Introducing “Real Stories, Real People”

Eric at Halloween

Six months ago I started working on an advocacy project entitled Real Stories, Real People. My commitment to this project lured me away from photographing people on the streets and into people’s homes and day to day lives. Although I have missed my weekly ventures on the streets of Atlanta (I will return soon), I have found fulfillment in photographing the lives of families and persons living with a developmental disability. Their stories are inspiring, joyful, poignant and at times heart-wrenching, and they demand to be told. I feel privileged to be entrusted with these stories and am honored by the new friendships I have made. You can learn more about this project and view the photo essays I have created thus far at http://www.realstoriesrealpeople.org. I have also constructed a designated blog for this project. You can subscribe to the blog through the website or at https://realstoriesrealpeoplega.wordpress.com. I hope you will sign up and join me on this new journey while continuing to follow the pictures and stories from the streets of Atlanta on this blog.

    Beautiful and important project. Margarita

    • Thanks Margarita. I am thoroughly enjoying the journey. I’ve met so many amazing people that I would have never met otherwise. This experience is enriching my life as well.
